Congratulations to Kevin and Christy Scott and Matt and Julie Love and their team at The Well Coffee House! It’s among 12 of the best coffee shops in Boston:
A 7 Steps Success Since 2014
The Scotts and Loves started the non-profit shop as an extension of The Church @ The Well. This Christian ministry is based in the Old Firehouse at 260 Sumner Street in Boston.
The couples and their team learned how to open a coffee shop through our 7 Steps to Success coffee shop franchise alternative. Based on Seven Steps to Success in the Specialty Coffee Industry by Crimson Cup Founder and President Greg Ubert, our program teaches everything entrepreneurs need to run a successful coffee house.
From developing a persuasive coffee shop business plan to choosing the right location to creating a marketing plan and more, our trainers turn aspiring coffee house owners into seasoned baristas and coffee house managers.
We offer much more than a short-term course. Our hands-on training continues for months. Our coffee experts will be there through opening day and beyond.
Expanding From a Single Coffee House to Three
Over the past few years, we’ve helped The Well expand from the shop in Boston’s South Station to a second location on State Street.
The new shop sits next to The Old State House on The Freedom Trail, catering to locals and tourists alike.
We’re also working with the founders on expanding and relocating the South Station shop to a larger space.
And a third location on Boston’s East Side is in the works!
Coffee+Community
“It’s fulfilling to work with small business owners who share our core value of giving back to the community,” Greg said. “Over nearly 30 years, we’ve learned what it takes to help them thrive in good times and bad. Community is a big part of it!”
With a motto of “Coffee – Love – Community,” The Well’s vision is to serve as a community gathering place:
“Today, coffee houses can be considered the modern day well. In the Bible wells served as a place to get water, socialize with others, have public meetings, listen to new ideas, hear the latest news, make public announcements, attract a crowd, serve needs, watch people and listen to prophets. The well was often at the center of the community which made it a very convenient place for public gatherings. Since all people needed water, the well served as a life source for the entire town.”
If you’re in Boston, we encourage you to visit The Well Coffee House! Or, watch them grow on Facebook.
