Do you know that a cup of iced coffee can bring smiles to children’s faces? In May, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation launched Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day, encouraging Americans to turn their morning coffee routine into an act of kindness. The result? A whopping $1.6 million collected for the foundation, solidifying Dunkin’s commitment to brightening the lives of kids battling hunger or illness.

A Generous Gesture for Children in Need
On May 23, Dunkin’ invited guests to make their iced coffee count. For every iced coffee purchased, $1 was donated to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The generosity of Dunkin’ franchisees ensured that 100 percent of the funds raised will be granted to children’s hospitals in local communities.
“Children battling illness often miss out on the simple joys of childhood,” said Victor Carvalho, Dunkin’ Franchisee and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. “Our guests and franchisees came together to make a difference for kids in hospitals across the country. I am proud to be part of a franchise community that recognizes the importance of giving back.”
Enriching the Lives of Children
Thanks to the incredible support received, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation will award nearly 100 local grants. These grants will fund a wide range of child life programming, including art, music, integrated therapy programs such as yoga and reiki, and even specialized summer camps. These joyful experiences provide not only fun but also respite for patients and their families.
The funds raised will also support interactive play and learning equipment, adaptive equipment for children with mobility issues, everyday essential kits for patients, wall murals, celebratory events for patient milestones, and the staffing of child life specialists. Through these initiatives, the foundation aims to bring the simple joys of childhood to kids when they need it most.
