Let’s start our adventure in the beautiful city of Brno, Czech Republic. In Brno, we have a special place called Chleba, which means “bread” in Czech. It is not only a craft bakery but also the first in the city to offer specialty coffee. Here, you can enjoy a delicious cappuccino made with Colombian coffee, washed process, from Nordbeans, a renowned coffee roaster from the north of the Czech Republic. While you’re there, don’t forget to try their homemade bread, local quality products like natural wine, local honey, or nut butter.
Grounded – Paris, France
Now, let’s jet off to the romantic city of Paris, France, where we’ll visit Grounded, a unique vegan coffee shop. Unlike traditional coffee shops in France, Grounded offers a variety of coffees from different countries and roasters, giving you the opportunity to discover new flavors. Their homemade food and pastries, made with mostly organic ingredients, are simply amazing. Don’t miss their famous cinnamon bun and a freshly brewed filter coffee made with natural process coffee from Rwanda, roasted by the excellent Belgian roaster, MOK from Brussels.
Roestwelt – Siegen, Germany
Our next stop takes us to the charming city of Siegen, Germany, where we’ll visit Roestwelt. This cozy coffee shop and roastery is known for its warm and friendly atmosphere, thanks to Karen and Holger, the founders. They have successfully introduced specialty coffee to a region where light roast is not widely known. Here, you can enjoy their classic blend, Bottega, in different delicious concoctions, such as lime, ice, water, espresso, and mint. It’s like a Caipirinha without alcohol, but with a coffee twist!
Lofty Coffee – San Diego, USA
Let’s now embark on a journey to sunny San Diego, California, where we’ll visit Lofty Coffee. This coffee shop has adapted to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic by offering delivery services for their freshly baked goods and juices. At Lofty, you’ll find friendly faces and great coffee, such as the single-origin Guatemala, perfect for those slightly chilly mornings. While you’re there, say hi to Siri, the director of coffee, and Joey, her assistant roaster, who will make sure you have an exceptional coffee experience.
Bay’s Coffee – Chiang Mai, Thailand
Our next destination takes us to the vibrant city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, where we’ll visit Bay’s Coffee. This unique coffee shop focuses solely on pour-over coffee, showcasing the best Thai coffees from local beans. Their pour-over method ensures a clean and flavorful cup of coffee. While enjoying your coffee, don’t forget to try their delicious salads and wraps. Unfortunately, the local coffee scene in Chiang Mai has been heavily impacted by the pandemic, but Bay’s Coffee has remained resilient by providing free meals to those in need. So far, they’ve distributed an astonishing 20,000 meals.
Tribe Coffee – Limassol, Cyprus
Our next stop brings us to the beautiful coastal city of Limassol, Cyprus, where we’ll visit Tribe Coffee. Tribe Coffee is not only a coffee shop but also a roastery. Here, you can enjoy a delicious espresso while witnessing the roasting process firsthand. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, the coffee shop is operating a take-away service only. However, their dedication to great coffee remains unwavering. So, grab a cup of their excellent espresso and support this local gem.
Sinamon – Perth, Australia
Our final stop takes us to the vibrant city of Perth, Western Australia, where we’ll visit Sinamon. Sinamon is not just your ordinary coffee shop; they specialize in serving mouthwatering cinnamon buns alongside fantastic coffee. While the coffee community in Australia has been fortunate during the COVID-19 crisis, Sinamon had to temporarily close its doors. However, they recently reopened to serve their loyal customers. Treat yourself to their delicious espresso and enjoy one of their freshly baked cinnamon buns while catching up with friends.
