Do you love the heavenly combination of peanut butter and chocolate? Then you’re in for a treat with these crunchy, creamy, no-bake peanut butter bars. Created by John Kanell of “Preppy Kitchen,” these homemade delights are perfect for sharing with your loved ones.
Easy Prep and Baking
To get started, line your baking dish with parchment paper or foil. You can use an 8×8 or 9×9-inch square dish, depending on how thick you want your bars to be. Once prepared, set it aside.
In a large bowl, melt one cup of unsalted butter in the microwave, cutting it into pieces for faster and safer melting. Stir until smooth and set aside. Next, crush two cups of graham crackers to make the base of your bars. The larger pieces add a delightful crunch. Add the crumbs to the melted butter, along with one cup of peanut butter. Cream everything together until smooth and creamy. Lastly, add 210 grams of powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Let it chill in the refrigerator while you prepare the chocolate topping.
The Perfect Chocolate Topping
For the chocolate layer, melt one and a half cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave, along with a quarter cup of peanut butter. Microwave in 30 to 40-second bursts, stirring after each burst until the mixture is smooth.
Retrieve your peanut butter bars from the refrigerator and pour the melted chocolate over the top. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly and create a wave-like pattern. Return the dish to the refrigerator and let it set for about an hour.
Enjoying the Peanut Butter Bars
Once fully chilled, remove the bars from the dish using the parchment paper. Cut them into your desired shape and size, whether it’s small rectangles or squares. With each bite, you’ll experience the perfect balance of crunch, creaminess, saltiness, and sweetness.
