#1. Maman
Ask any local about the best coffee shops in SoHo and the honest ones will mention Maman. Offering a whimsical and charming vibe, this is one of the most popular spots to meet an old friend.
Originally started as a French bakery and cafe in SoHo, Maman quickly became renowned for perfectly executed baked goods. But what really put them on the map was Oprah listing their nutty chocolate chip cookie as one of her favorite things.
I never miss an opportunity to order the quiche, chocolate croissant or their famous macadamia nut cookie. Plus, they serve some of the best coffee in New York City (not to be underestimated at a bakery).

#2. Ground Support Cafe
If you’re looking for one of the best coffee shops in SoHo with a relaxing vibe make a beeline to Ground Support Cafe. The SoHo cafe offers an inviting environment, filled with natural light and friendly workers.
It’s not uncommon to see the shop filled with happy locals catching up with friends or eagerly clicking away on their laptops knee-deep in work.
In a world full of coffee shops touting the freshest coffees, it’s common-place to see a lot of coffee beans go to waste. Behind the scenes farmers are forced to cut their losses and toss any leftover beans, but Ground Support Cafe has made an effort to curbing this problem.
Ground Support Cafe buys the previous season’s coffee beans, mixes them with fresh beans and roasts them with precision to churn out delectable cups of coffee. It’s a win-win situation where they reduce waste, help local farmers recoup their losses and the customer enjoy one of the best SoHo coffee shops!

#3. Felix Roasting Co.
Felix Roasting Company’s dedication to being one of the best coffee shops in SoHo can be appreciated from the moment guests walk through the door.
In a city that has a coffee shop on every corner, the visionaries behind Felix have raised the bar in hospitality, comfort and flavor, bringing the ordinary to the extraordinary.
Velvet lined booths and colorful ceiling tiles contribute to the upscale aesthetic, and a quick glimpse of their Instagram showcases folks sipping on their coffees and living their best life.
Not to mention with items like a hickory smoked s’mores latte and espresso tonic this is one of the best coffee shops in SoHo for those looking for an elegant and unique cup of coffee.

#4. La Colombe Coffee Roasters
If you’re looking for a delicious cup of joe, look no further than La Colombe Coffee Roasters. La Colombe is one of the best coffee shops in SoHo, guaranteed to satisfy any caffeinated craving you might have.
With an array of coffees, teas and treats, La Colombe takes it one step further and offers certain speciality drinks on-tap.
They currently offer a Pumpkin Spice Oatmilk Draft Latte, which if you are a fan of the fall season is something you don’t want to miss out on.
Not to mention La Colombe has a lot of locations around New York City, so it should come as no surprise that a list of the best coffee shops in SoHo includes not one, but two La Colombe cafes.

#5. Butler
Ryan Butler blessed New Yorkers when he, along with his co-founders opened Butler in 2016. Being a chef by profession, Butler has curated an exquisite and simple menu that compliments their delicious coffee from Intelligentsia coffee roasters.
Roasted to perfection, the coffee is among the smoothest you’ll find in NYC. Founded in 1995 in Chicago, Intelligentsia has one simple goal, to deliver the highest quality coffee they possibly can. Butler is lucky to have partnered with them.
Whether you pop in first thing in the morning or for an afternoon snack, Butler has the perfect hot (or iced) cup of Joe for you. The sleek and gorgeously designed interiors make customers want to hang out in there.
Their SoHo location at any given time is littered with chatting friends, or folks on laptops working away. With their big and light filled space it’s a great place to hunker down with a book all while enjoying one of the best coffee shops in SoHo.

#6. PlantShed
All my fellow plant lovers will be in a state of euphoria at PlantShed. Their original Upper West Side location has been an oasis in the concrete jungle for more than 40 years.
The plant craze has been in full swing over the last few years and PlantShed has capitalized by creating one of the best coffee shops in SoHo all while basking in abundant green foliage. The plants & flowers are also for sale, so it’s not uncommon to see folks walking out with a latte in one hand and a hanging basket in another.
Like the other best coffee shops in New York City, most of their locations have spaces for guests to hang out. Whether it’s to get work done or read a book, PlantShed provides a Garden of Eden like reprieve from the bustling city.

#7. Laduree
Laduree has five locations to choose from, so finding one of the best coffee shops in SoHo just got a whole lot easier. Famous for their macaroons, Laduree developed a cult-like following for a reason — they’re some of the best in the city.
The decor is perfectly Parisian and makes for a great spot to slow down and relax in the midst of the bustling streets. The hot chocolate at Laduree is the happy medium for those who like to taste real chocolate in their drink but don’t want the overwhelming richness.
Regardless of what you’re stopping by for, you’ll be rewarded with the perfect sweet treat at one of the best cafes in SoHo.

#8. Gasoline Alley Coffee
Gasoline Alley Coffee is technically in NoHo, but it’s so good and so close to SoHo that it deserves a spot on our list of the best coffee shops in SoHo.
This bright and fast-paced cafe churns out some of the best coffee in the neighborhood. Gasoline Alley is on the smaller side, but both ends of the shop open up and offer ample seating outside, so finding a spot to rest your feet won’t be a problem.
The menu is simple and straight to the point, I highly recommend the iced Americano and pair it with a flakey croissant.
Local’s Tip: Right next door to Gasoline Alley Coffee is Funny Face Bakery, mentioned on our list of 15 Seductive Cookies in New York City Are (Easily) Worth the Calories. Swing by and try the s’mores cookie!

#9. Now or Never Coffee
Not only is Now or Never Coffee one of the best coffee shops in SoHo, it’s also one of the cutest cafes in the neighborhood.
In 2014, founder Sehwan quit his corporate job in search of his true passions. After brainstorming at a local coffee shop with a life changing macchiato in hand, Sehwan knew that the field of coffee was his calling.
From then it became his personal mission to learn everything there is to know about coffee and to create something memorable, and we’re all better for it.
Fast forward to 2019, Sehwan opened Now or Never Coffee which has become one of the best coffee shops in SoHo.
Since opening, it has been our mission to nurture a space and playground for our customers to play with, show, teach, and sell one’s passion to embrace and celebrate now or never moments.
That is why we call ourselves the Now or Never Coffee.

#10. Olive’s
For over 30 years Olive’s has been a New York City favorite for those in search of delicious, fresh food to-go.
This SoHo cafe is tiny, completely by design. SoHo is a busy neighborhood and folks are constantly on the go, so Olive’s stepped up to the challenge and created a quick grab and go shop devoted to fresh fare.
Serving high quality food that’s made daily, Olive’s also churns out some of the best caffeinated drinks in the neighborhood. With that level of commitment it’s no surprise Olive’s made our list of best coffee shops in SoHo.
Address: 191 Prince St, New York, NY 10012
11. Balthazar’s Bakery
Ah! I’ve been dying to get brunch at the uber-famous Balthazar restaurant for quite some time. But since reservations are required (it’s a very popular place), I learned a trick – visit the bakery next door!
Seriously, the BEST chocolate donuts I’ve ever had – perfectly dense and chocolatey. Oh, and the chai latte from this place can’t be missed.
Although this is technically a bakery, their drinks and baked-goods are worth writing home about so I feel confident in adding them on a list of best coffee shops in SoHo.
Address: 80 Spring St, New York, NY 10012

#12. Citizens Cafe
Opened in 2016, this Australian-influenced cafe prides itself on its community by building a safe space to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. It quickly became one of the best coffee shops in Soho.
Whenever I swing buy Citizens coffee I am always greeted by an eager staff member who goes above and beyond. The kind staff, delicious food and it being one of the cutest cafes in NYC, I can’t help but keep coming back.
The interior is vibrant and bright, filled with green plants and fun tiled floors. Citizens coffee hit the nail on the head when it comes to creating a welcoming environment.
I highly recommend the Smashing Avocado (avocado toast). It is some of the best food I’ve had at a SoHo cafe. Served on multigrain toast, Citizens Coffee adds pickled onion, feta and a beetroot hummus creating not only a delicious meal but a memorable one.

#13. Urban Backyard
If you’re a fan of succulent plants and cupcakes this is the spot for you. Urban Backyard is a small oasis in the heart of Little Italy and one of the best coffee shops in SoHo.
Popular for their realistic mini cupcakes with frosting piped into the shape of succulents, it’s almost too cute to eat. Offering a selection of unique coffees and teas, Urban Backyard is my go-to spot when I’m in the area and need a mid-day boost.
Urban Backyard strives to be a sustainable business and sells natural and reusable products. They also create all their sauces and syrups in-house, so drinks are made with fresh ingredients.
The space is small but they managed to turn a concrete room into a cozy, rustic escape from the city. Size doesn’t stop this coffee shop from being one of the best cafes in SoHo.
You’ll find greenery sprinkled all over this cafe and the employees are always eager to give suggestions so don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Something to note: Urban Backyard no longer sells the mini succulent cupcakes in store. You have to pre-order them online and pick up in store.

#14. Cafe Leon Dore
Cafe Leon Dore is a game changer when it comes to coffee in New York City. This charming coffee shop makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Parisian cafe and any drink or treat you order is guaranteed to satisfy.
Their iconic freddo cappuccino is what keeps New Yorkers coming back for more. One sip of their cloud-like foam and you’ll understand the hype.
After many lattes, cappuccinos and Americanos, Cafe Leon Dore is one of the best cafes in SoHo.
Address: 214 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10012
#15. 787 Coffee
Not only does 787 Coffee serve some of the best coffee in NYC, it’s also one of the most charming cafes in SoHo. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up or simply a cute cafe to spend a few hours in.
The coffee is consistently great and the baristas are always top-notch. I especially love the purpose-driven mission of this charming SoHo cafe, which is to provide a farm to cup coffee experience while supporting the local community.
The coffee is grown and processed on a farm in Puerto Rico by the owners of the cafe. The goal is to grow coffee in a sustainable manner and offer livable wages to the locals they hire. It’s a beautiful thing and the end result is exceptional – some of the best coffee in SoHo! Swing by and see why locals love this spot so much.
